The real estate professional turns complex market data into practical guidance for Denver buyers and sellers.

For Amanda Snitker, a career change began with a clear realization about the life she wanted to build.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental science from Iowa State University and a master’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder.

From 2004 to 2009, she worked as a water resources engineer for a Denver-area water rights firm.

After becoming a parent, she began envisioning a different kind of career, one that would allow her to make a meaningful impact professionally while maintaining the flexibility to prioritize family.

Real estate offered the perfect option, and she entered the industry in 2010. Sixteen years later, Snitker runs her own business as a realtor with SERHANT. in Denver and has sold more than $100 million in real estate over the course of her career.

Turning Data Into Useful Guidance

Snitker did not leave engineering thinking behind when she moved into real estate. She applies that training to current and historical market data, looking beyond isolated headlines to understand what the numbers show over time.

Her strength lies in explaining complicated information without losing the details that matter.

She brings that skill to her role as chair of the Denver Metro Association of Realtors’ Market Trends Committee, following eight years on the committee, including two as vice chair.

In that role, Snitker helps interpret the market in measured, accessible terms. She has provided market commentary in local news interviews, on NPR’s Marketplace, and in Axios and other local and national outlets.

Her focus is on translating complex information into clear, actionable guidance that helps buyers and sellers assess their options.

Buyer Psychology and Real Estate Education

Data may guide Snitker’s work, but real estate decisions remain deeply personal.

She also studies buyer and seller psychology, recognizing that financial choices often carry uncertainty, emotion, and competing priorities.

Translating the market means accounting for the people making those choices, not simply reciting statistics.

That perspective has shaped the educational side of her career.

Snitker created and hosted The Real Estate Breakdown, a podcast covering Denver market recaps and the realities of buying, selling, and running a real estate business.

Her areas of commentary also include entrepreneurship, parenting while building a company, and the broader consumer economy.

Building a Business While Raising a Family

Snitker has spent 16 years running her business while raising her daughter, now a freshman in college.

She speaks candidly about the tradeoffs involved, including learning to ask for help and protecting her time and energy.

Those experiences inform her understanding of clients who are weighing housing decisions alongside family needs and other priorities.

Beyond her leadership at DMAR, she serves on her neighborhood HOA committee. She and her husband, a civil engineer, have been married for 21 years, and their family enjoys skiing, camping, and traveling.

The decision to pursue real estate began with a reassessment of how work could fit into her life. Today, her approach combines analytical training, Denver market experience, and personal guidance to help clients make decisions that fit their own goals.

For Amanda Snitker, real estate became more than a career change; it was an opportunity to build a business around the kind of life and community she wanted to create.

It allowed her to help people navigate consequential decisions, contribute to a deeper understanding of Denver’s housing market, and build a career that offered the flexibility to prioritize both family and professional growth.

Sixteen years later, those priorities continue to shape her work. Whether she’s interpreting market trends, guiding clients through a transaction, or serving her neighborhood, Snitker has built a career that reflects a belief that professional success and meaningful personal connections can reinforce one another.
